From volume 83, issue no. 1 (Spring 1999), our editorial team has selected Elizabeth Gatbonton’s ‘Investigating experienced ESL teachers’ pedagogical knowledge,’ an exciting exploration of the thought processes of teachers as they teach. These insights are relevant to all L2 teachers, regardless of the language they are teaching. We would also like to draw our readers’ attention to the extension of the deadline for our annual ‘Best paper by a graduate student’ competition to August 1, 2000. We encourage our faculty colleagues to identify outstanding graduate papers and urge their authors to submit them to our contest! Finally, please note that Birgit Harley’s co-editorship of CMLR has now come to its end, and Jill Bell is again co-editing the journal. Tiré du volume 83, numéro 1 (printemps 1999), l’article retenu par notre équipe de rédaction est celui d’Elizabeth Gatbonton intitulé « Investigating experienced ESL teachers’ pedagogical knowledge ». Il s’agit d’une exploration fascinante des processus de la pensée dans la pratique professionnelle des enseignants, un sujet qui présentera de l’intérêt pour tout enseignant de langue seconde, peu importe la langue enseignée. Nous aimerions également attirer votre attention sur le fait que nous avons reporté au 1er août 2000 la date limite de notre concours pour le meilleur travail rédigé par un étudiant de 2e ou 3e cycles. Nous encourageons nos collègues à identifier des travaux d’étudiants qui se sont distingués par leur qualité exceptionnelle, et nous invitons leurs auteurs à nous les soumettre sous forme de manuscrit dans le cadre de notre concours. Enfin, nous vous prions de noter que le mandat intérimaire de Birgit Harley comme co-rédactrice en chef de la revue prend maintenant fin et que Jill Bell reprend ses fonctions à ce même titre.
