This issue examines the social impact of performances created by queer women in Canada. Topics to be explored range from Canadian women’s theatre festivals to the intersection of sex work with burlesque theatre to the performance of trans (FTM) identities on stage.
Contributors include Trey Anthony, David Bateman, TL Cowan, Erin Hurley, Dayna McLeod, Rosemary Rowe, Mariko Tamaki, and Sheri D. Wilson.
The script by body artist Jess Dobkin, Everything I’ve Got, shares the fears and obsessions of queer women performers.
Guest editor Moynan King is an award-winning theatre artist whose solo and collaborative works have been presented across Canada and was Associate Artist at Toronto’s Buddies in Bad Times Theatre from 2003–2009.
