A must for anyone who crosses the scholarly publishing path – authors, editors, marketers and publishers of books and journals.

For 36 years, the Journal of Scholarly Publishing has been the authoritative voice of academic publishing. The journal combines philosophical analysis with practical advice and aspires to explain, argue, discuss and question the large collection of new topics that continuously arise in the publishing field.

The journal has also examined the future of scholarly publishing, scholarship on the web, digitalization, copyrights, editorial policies, computer applications, marketing and pricing models.

It is the indispensable resource for academics and publishers that addresses the new challenges resulting from changes in technology and funding and the innovations in production and publishing.

JSP is a member of the Council of Editors of Learned Journals and is distributed to CELJ members as a benefit of membership.

Editor
Tom Radko did his graduate work in English at the University of Chicago and immediately migrated to the University of Chicago Press as his first foray into publishing. He has worked in the publishing industry for 30 years at a variety of scholarly presses other than Chicago (Rutgers, Oklahoma, Nevada, and Wesleyan) and commercial houses (Humanities, Alyson). He has chaired the Admissions and Standards Committee of the Association of American University Presses, served on the AAUP Marketing Committee, as well as the AAUP Diversity Task Force, and he has chaired the Advisory Council of the Connecticut Center for the Book. Committed to the notion that publishing is a viable and valuable calling, he has taught a book publishing course at Wesleyan and Hampshire College. After serving as director at both Nevada and Wesleyan, he is currently studying the relationship between publishers and librarians while working at Choice.
