PReSTO - Peer Review System Tracking Online

PReSTO, University of Toronto Press's uniquely bilingual online peer and book review tool, consolidates every aspect of the publication process into one easy to use system, streamlining academic peer review and offering maximum flexibility and adaptability. PReSTO is a time-saving tool for all of those involved in the publishing of scholarly journals. For authors, it offers an effortless, one-step submission process, as well as easy access to information about the journal, ways to contact the editors and submission guidelines. For reviewers, it provides one-click access to manuscripts to be reviewed, as well as a straightforward review form. For editors, it not only makes automatic previously cumbersome elements of the peer review process, but it also aids in organization, providing an overview of articles at a glance and fully searchable archives.

The PReSTO Process:

  • An author creates a user account, logs on to PReSTO and submits his or her article online.
  • The editor is automatically notified of a new submission by email.
  • Using the PReSTO database, the editor can locate suitable reviewers, and send them an email invitation to review.
  • Once reviewers are assigned and have accepted, they can access the article and submit their evaluations via PReSTO.
  • PReSTO will notify the editors when a review has been received and can send out reminders automatically for overdue reviews.
  • After the editor has made a decision, the reviews are collated and relayed to the author anonymously through an email template on PReSTO.

Printing and Mailing Services

  • Print your journal to your specifications using water-based inks and earth-friendly paper stock.
  • Mail to your subscribers no matter where they are. We use Canada Post, the US Postal Service, DHL to deliver our journals quickly and cost-effectively.
